In 1973 graduated from M. O. Knebel’s studio in the Directing Faculty of GITIS. He has been teaching at RGISI since 1981. Teaches Directing and Acting in the Directing Department.

Gives master classes at the festivals of the International Theatre Institute of UNESCO. Director of over 70 stage and television productions. For 10 years was the Artistic Director of the Bryantsev Theatre of Young Spectators in St. Petersburg.

Among his students are stage actors in St. Petersburg and Moscow, Europe and Asia.
